A farmhouse arranged around shade, long views and a working family kitchen.
The plan separates everyday family rooms from the formal drawing room while keeping both connected to a deep verandah that takes the afternoon sun off the western wall.
The owner wanted the local red brick from the kilns down the Bihta road rather than a rendered finish, so exposed brickwork, Kaimur stone and timber were laid up as a full-scale mock-up panel on site before any of it was ordered.
